Boy and Girls Scouts are officially finished for the summer and I can finally breathe again! lol
Now this girl can finally get things swinging back toward writing and getting my name out there. I've got a few stories I need to work on, and one or two shorties I'd like to get in a good form to start sending out to magazines. Lots of work ahead of me, but I've learned a lot and think it's time to get my act together.
Let's just hope the positive vibes stick. ;)

Updates and such
I know, this post is WAY overdue... For the last ten days or so, I have been getting some serious cleaning done around my house. I am proud to say the house is now clutter-free!
We have a few new additions to our family, too. A few weeks ago, I lost my 14yr-old cat, Jazz. It took several days for me to realize how empty the house seemed without a cat in it. So when my grandparents told me about the litter of kittens they had, I couldn't resist the cuteness, and neither could my kids! We now have three cute little fuzzballs running all over the house and causing a ruckuss!

Their names are Shnelly (yes, it's spelled correctly), Tinkerbell, and Susie. Shnelly's name came from the comic strip Mutts, Tinkerbell.... well, that name should speak for itself, and Susie's name is from Calvin and Hobbes.
I think my kids did well in naming them, don't you? ;)

Another Storm Passes
It's not much, but I needed to get this off my chest.
I'm not sure what to say about the recent line of storms that have hit in the general area around my home. I'm thankful they seem to keep avoiding us, but at the same time, it saddens me at the amount of damage done to other communities. Of course, that just keeps the idea that the next one just may have my number on it.
Last night was no different. My husband and I watched the local news to find yet another storm was headed our way. The kids were in bed, so when we saw the storm was heading right for us, we loaded them up and went to my grandparent's house and ended up staying the night. The storms skirted by us once more, and as I read this morning, they did infact turn nasty.
My thoughts and prayers go to those who have lost their homes and/or friends and families in these storms. I've only experienced the edge of it and can hardly imagine what it must be like to be in the middle.

Voices in my Head?
I had the strangest thing happen to me a few weeks ago. (and I hope that this is at least somewhat normal for a writer to go through!)
I hadn't been awake long, and I was staring at the ceiling, thinking about my current story and wondering how I was going to fix a few things in it that were bothering me. Out of the blue, I heard the voice of my protagonist speaking to me. She told me how her real name was Michele, and that Clover was a nickname given to her with she was a little girl. There were other things that she told me that I quickly wrote down to add into the story at a later time.
This short moment of inspiration did help with the writing that day and for a few days afterward. I just wonder from time-to-time if this has happened to anyone else?

First Post!
This is the first blog I've started in a while, so you may have to bear with me as I ramble.
I figured it's about time that I start concentrating more on my love of writing, and what better way than to blog about the process as my story(ies) progress? I hope this becomes a fun journey for all of us, and maybe we'll all learn a thing or two as time passes along.
So, sit back and let's enjoy the ride!
